Words Worth Writing tells the story of a little girl, Robyn, on a school outing to Loch Ness, in Scotland. She discovers the Loch Ness Monster, aka Zippy, who is part of a long-lived family of amphibians who have lived in the Loch for centuries.
Robyn teaches Zipppy to talk and he becomes a worldwide sensation on TV talk shows and in the press. Zippy is then elected King of the newly independent state of Scotland, and takes on the oafish President of the United States, who comes to Scotland to play golf on one of his courses, and causes disruption of the Scottish way of life.
